GLENFIDDICH 50 YEAR OLD

Introduction

The Glenfiddich 50 Year Old (the most expensive whisky ever auctioned) is one of the rarest and most magnificent single malt Scotch whiskies. Only 500 bottles have been produced of this truly remarkable whisky and each was signed by Alexander Grant Gordon (great-grandson of William Grant).

Between 1937 and 1939, William Grant & Sons Ltd laid down nine casks of Glenfiddich spirit for maturation, each representing one of the nine children of the founder, who assisted their father in the building of The Glenfiddich Distillery. After lying undisturbed for over 50 years, the precious liquid was finally bottled on 26th July 1991.

Glenfiddich 50 Year Old is the darkest Glenfiddich whisky, with an astonishing taste. It has a well-balanced nose, with a pleasantly sweet woody aroma. This progresses to a smooth sweet fruity flavour.
