MP Landis

United States of America

MP Landis is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, NYC whose work is driven by process and material. Location, weather, season, personal mood and daily experiences all shape his work without force or thought. The artist accepts the organic nature of this process and allows it to take control. His work has been well exposed across the North American continent and in Europe, and is also represented in several museum and many private collections.

Circumstances have forced MP to become the programmes first remote resident and the next three months will see him produce work at a summer studio, the historic Battell Block Building in Middlebury, in Vermont. Through communication and collaboration with the curator, distillery employees and the other resident artists, MP still plans to use his time to gain a sense of experience from afar to create a body of work inspired in spirit by The Glenfiddich Distillery.
